The Owl House, situated in the remote Karoo village of Nieu-Bethesda, has become an international icon, symbolising triumph over adversity and the power of the creative spirit.  Consequently, Helen Martins' creativity has inspired tribute by many artists in different forms.  Now, two prominent classical composers have translated that inspiration into musical compositions for flute and string ensemble. 

The exploration, conceptualisation, and performance of these works provides the framework of the video.  In conversation, the two composers discuss their views on the art of Helen Martins, and introduce us to the creative process leading to their works.  The performance of each composition becomes a visual narrative by which the video explores the Owl House and its surrounding environment.  D'Arcy Reynolds' tribute, Cloven Dreams, is performed at the Owl House by the internationally celebrated Sontonga Quartet of Cape Town. Tessa Brinckman plays the flute sections of her work, Glass Sky, to the accompaniment of the East West Continuo of Portland, Oregon.
